annie, the dark child

one of the things i find myself inspired by is video games and their art style. a recent game that jason and i started playing has really sparked my interest in it's colorful style and range of characters.

league of legends is an intriguing game, and i found my favorite character quickly.

annie is a cute character, very interesting, and fun to play. but most off, i love the style of her. her purple dress, her little eared hat. but...i can't carry around a teddy bear so i thought i'd present a more 22 year old version of her style.

i always love how video games dress their characters. i call my steve madden boots elf boots because they remind me of boots out of world of warcraft.

squirrels just wanna have fun

just ordered raynor a new collar! we're choosing a chain martingale for it's non-slip and strength properties. also, i'm choosing etsy this time - found "the mod dog" after going through countless sites trying to find what i wanted and fell in love with literally everything in the store, you don't know how hard it was to choose. i am so excited about it - cute AND strong - can't go wrong.

fire.earth.water

schoolwork, y'know how it goes.
making them to match my fire/water/earth shoes (water/earth are still in the making). ignoring the branding because i've a) done a usb branded drive before and b) spent all last quarter branding my light project. this was more fun.

sunday's six

it's been quite a busy weekend - replacing school work with work around the home (cleaning, making the puppy pretty, making the piggies pretty, etc etc). running errands has made the days quite hectic.
first : snow

i look incredibly short here - which i suppose i am. it snowed - not bad at all - but everyone seemed to freak out about it. it's been awhile since i've taken an outfit photo - probably a long while. i have trouble taking photos in the new house, surprisingly. the lighting for the most part sucks, and outside, it's a suburb, so there is a lot of stuff. i dislike snow, but i guess it's still february...then again thursday i went on a run in shorts.
second : woodchuck spring cider

again with my it's february but feels like spring, woodchuck released their spring cider. it's cider, infused with honey. i'm not really sure about it yet, but no matter what, it's a pretty bottle.
third : foreign treats

i love having a lot of local stores that sell international food. candies are mine and jason's favorite things. only sad part is, a lot of food has nuts in it, and a lot of things jason can't have.
fourth : pizza
pizza is so delicious. every wednesday is pizza night (or chinese sometimes...) for us, and this week we tried ramundo's in mount lookout (quite good, and right by a udf). but, i had not made my pizza in a little while, so i put together a really good batch with goat cheese and olives tonight. i have about a pound of goat cheese...so this coming week's meal theme is "goat cheese everything."
fifth : puppy loving

the dog is getting a lot of love this week! the puppy is getting new food - the vet said to switch her to wet food, but after researching it, it was expensive, gross, and probably not good for her teeth. we tried switching brands, but her stomach has been upset and she was ignoring her food, so now, even cheaper it seems than kibble, is cooking a few pounds of chicken, a few cups of rice, mixing some gravy in, and giving that to her. sam's club is working for us as the bulk prices are really nice, and i freeze the chicken i don't make. the dog also thinks it is the best. she also got valentine's day gifts from her grandparents mcadoo, and her grandparents kellner put a stake in their yard and a big tie out so she can get to every part of the yard but not the bushes!
sixth : new piggie set up

got a new table in ikea's as is section for half off and a thermoformed container for a new pig cage. making it today. now the pigs won't be in some awful looking grid contraption, and it will be a bit higher off the ground. raynor has taken to trying to jump in their cage.... which is cute but also annoying because we don't want her breaking the cage. not worried she'd do anything to the pigs but maybe paw at them, it's just the pigs don't wanna play.

dogs are a such a great part of all these photos. i just adore how all of these photos incorporate people and their dogs.

norah jones album has a saint bernard on it that is really great album cover art.


i love taking photos with the dog, so i love finding other people who do it well. it's hard to get animals to pose, especially some of these where they obviously aren't using food, or just letting the animal's natural state take care of it all, which is really hard to capture in a fast moving animal.
